How this pressure converter works
Pressure is force spread over an area, and it can be written in many units. This tool converts every value through a single base unit — the pascal (Pa), the SI unit of pressure — so the conversions stay consistent no matter which unit you start from.
It first turns your input into pascals using the factor for the unit you chose, then divides back out into every other unit. The conversion factors are exact or standard values: 1 kPa = 1000 Pa, 1 bar = 100000 Pa, 1 psi = 6894.757 Pa, 1 atm = 101325 Pa, and 1 torr (mmHg) = 133.322 Pa.
