About PennyPath

PennyPath is an independent project building fast, free, privacy-first personal-finance calculators — tools that help you understand your own numbers without getting in your way.

Our principles

Three commitments shape everything we build:

  • Everything runs in your browser. Our calculators do their math with client-side JavaScript. We never see, store, or upload the numbers you type — your finances stay on your device.
  • Transparent math. No black boxes. Every formula and assumption behind a calculator is published in plain language on our methodology page, so you can check our work.
  • Free and no signup. No account, no paywall, no "enter your email to see the result." Open a tool and use it.

Why we built it

Most of the big calculator sites are slow, cluttered, and ad-choked — you wait for a page to load, dodge pop-ups, and still aren't sure how the result was reached. We wanted the opposite: lightweight pages that load instantly, clear results, and honest explanations of the math. PennyPath is our attempt at the calculator we wished existed.

How we make money

We believe in being upfront about this. PennyPath is supported by display advertising and clearly-disclosed affiliate links — if you open an account or product through a partner link, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Crucially, money never touches the math. Ads and affiliate partnerships never affect a calculator's inputs, formulas, or results, and we only mention options we'd genuinely consider ourselves. When a link is a partner link, we say so.
